Lake George Rotary’s first annual Ice Out Challenge is underway. What’s that you say? We’re selling guesses on when this 600 pound bale of hay will fall through the ice and will split the pot (after expenses) with the person who’s guess comes closest to the time it falls through the ice without going over.
With a little help from Mother Nature and our friends, we finally got the hay bale on SAFE ice on Valentine’s Day and are selling guesses on the ice every afternoon during the Lake George Winter Carnival. We will continue selling in the community until the ice gets ready to go. Likely in April but the way the temps keep fluctuating who knows?
Message us if you want to buy some slots, we’ll arrange to meet you. Monies raised will help underwrite the scholarship program for graduating seniors, the Dictionary program for elementary students, the upkeep on the Welcome to the LG Region corner near Exit 21, maintenance and upgrades at the Lake George Rotary Ball Fields and many other projects the Rotary Club undertakes.
